Conation - The Conative Domain?

One dictionary defines conation as "the part of mental life having to do with striving, including desire and volition." Another says "The aspect of mental processes or behavior directed toward action or change and including impulse, desire, volition, and striving."

Some have said that conation should be a replacement for the affective domain, however the to appear to be separate things. Maybe one could develop new system that includes four domains, psychomotor, cognitive, affective, and conative.
